“These resources are free and we encourage all business and community leaders to use them to encourage vaccination and correct the misinformation that is all too common,” said Glenna Crooks, Ph.D., Principal of Global Vaccination Advisors
The tenth episode of the series features Jim Weiss and explores strategic insights on how companies and community leaders can ensure good health citizenship and maximum COVID-19 vaccination rates.
In addressing the role of business, Weiss commented that in a world where productivity is paramount, a business leader must be, “…a great corporate citizen, and also, a great health citizen.” Weiss emphasized the preventative value of vaccines to help avoid the costs associated with treating diseases.
Weiss also counseled that “The best programs are the ones that that are consistent and driven from the bottom-up, the top-down and adopted in the middle.”
Emphasizing the value of health, Weiss concluded, saying, “I’ll say this again: there’s really, again, nothing more important than your health. The work we do, our productivity, collaboration, integration and interactions can’t happen unless we’re healthy first.”
The Vanguard Vaccination Project
Safe, effective COVID-19 vaccines are available and increasingly accessible, but vaccine hesitancy and resistance are profound barriers to achieving herd immunity. Without herd immunity, we will face resurgences of the disease, causing social, educational, travel, workforce productivity, and economic disruptions. Leaders of companies and organizations across the country can play an important role in encouraging vaccinations within their organizations and communities. The Vanguard Network, in collaboration with Global Vaccination Advisors, will play a critical role by providing tailored communications strategies and content for leaders of companies and nonprofits.
